Now that I have entered phase 2 of my transformation plan, the focus during training has shifted to work on strength and conditioning.
In order to track progress, and demonstrate improvement, Alan will regularly schedule ‘Testing Days’ where my strength, conditioning and endurance are put to the test.
These tests are focused around 8 key areas . . .
Incline Press Ups – total number in 1 min
20kg Weighted Air Squats – total number in 1 min
Half Body Weight Assisted Pull Ups – total number in 1 min
Half Body Weight Leg Press – total number in 1 min
Plank – duration, average of 3 attempts
30 Clean and Press – for time
All of the above are to be performed in a one hour session! FUN 😀
My first testing day was on the 14th April 2017, and my second was 29th July 2017. And well . . . the results speak for themselves really 🙂
The idea was to complete the testing every 4 – 6 weeks, but as you can see we were a little slack on this! However with results like that I am really keen to keep up with the testing schedule. Now I am not focused on scale weight, or clothes size its really important to me to have something I can track and physically see improve/change. These tests are perfect for this, as they reinforce the benefit of the strength training we are doing.
What tools do you use to track your journey?
