The Wrekin . . .

Since embarking on this crazy journey of weight loss, I have overcome some mental mountains that would have destroyed me just a few months ago. It is really cliche to say, but I truly believe that for every hurdle you jump you become stronger and more able to deal with the next.

Along with the mental challenges I have pushed myself physically, and every time surprise myself with how capable I am.

My first physical challenge was set by Alan (naturally). He decided it would be great idea to climb the Shropshire Wrekin.ย Coming from Telford himself, he was so encouraging and really sold the idea to me of this stunning place with its breath taking views.

So on the 17th October 2016 bags packed full of snacks and water, myself and my friend Emily took on the Wrekin. It felt never ending, the path is winding and around every turn there is just more hill to climb. But it was so worth it. The views from the top are simply beautiful. The sense of achievement was indescribable. NEVER in my wildest dreams would I have imagined climbing the Wrekin, FOR FUN! This was a mere 2 months after the start of my journey, it really showed me that I can do anything I put my mind too.

And on my triumphant return to the gym and training with Alan, discovered his eagerness for me to complete this challenge wasn’t out of experience. That’s right . . . he lied to me. Lead me to believe he had climbed the Wrekin, when in actual fact he hadn’t. Something to this day I do not, and will not let him forget!!
